Quick report from Henry Hagg Lake this past weekend. I was out running around the west side on Flag Day (Sunday) and stopped by Henry Hagg on the way home... very nice woman at the permit booth told me to hit one of the creek arms, so I did (Scoggins? I think).

After a couple casts with experimental lures, I went to my standby (black 1/4 oz bangtail, silver spinner, with a little shrimp scent and 1/4 oz line weight) and I caught my dinner with the first cast. I'm watching my weight, so one trout, and I was back on the road home.

It was a great way to end my day. I heard of several others doing pretty well, but there was a lot of pressure from shore. Next time, I think I'll drag my boat with me...so strange to fish from shore when you're not used to it!

Very nice catch! As long as you catch something to eat then it's worth it! Good catch! :applause:

Nice catch. Haven't caught anything in hagg in a long time, of course i haven't been there in a while either. By the way, what type of reel is that?

Nevermind, i found it.

Not bad for a side trip!

Any idea what the water temp is? I have Friday off, thinking about taking the kids up for a pull around the lake on the ski tube. That's always good for a fat lip or two.....they always say faster up until they hit the boat wake :D

They always get their revenge when it's my turn in the tube.
