I only have had one opportunity to fish the salmon fly/golden hatch this season and that was Monday 6-8 at mecca. Fished noon until dark for only seven fish and it was very slow for everyone on that day. I would like another shot at them and could find time for one last effort on Wednesday but have a lot to do before fishing next week in Montana. If anyone has any recent reports from mecca I would appreciate it.
Its been a couple of years since I have been on the D when the fish are really on the big bugs and can't resist another try. In all honesty though, I love the way the D fishes when the big bugs are gone and so are some of the fishermen.
