I don't currently have a tachometer on my outboard but thinking of getting one. Does anyone have experience or comments about the Tiny Tach tachometer? They are less expensive than just about anything else I could find. Usually that means not as great as it seems to me. Thanks

We used tiny tach's at TR-1. They are fine, just don't expect it to last forever. A couple years seems to be the general life expectancy.

I just purchased a Tiny Tach style tach to check the RPM of my 8hp trolling motor. Wrapped the inductive wire around the spark plug wire and it worked great. Didn't mount it for a permanent installation. Got it through Baxter Auto Parts on 167th & Division for $55.00.

I'm pretty sure this is the type we've got on our hovercraft at work. It's been in service since 2002 and still works fine.
