I was thinking off heading up to Diamond lake in the beginning of july. I was wondering how the mosquitos get up there?

I have to disagree, I think they are born there, and they dont ever go to far from home. Well, relatively speaking.
I have never seen any Paulina Lake skeeters at Diamond, so I feel preety confident in the above statement. :twocents:

Lol,
this was definitely good for a laugh. As far as I know the strain is different by the sheer force and mass of midges with them? I am headed to diamond on Saturday and will definitely be throwing in a headnet. Hopefully the bugs will hold off for just a bit longer, but I hear reports that there was a good hatch over the last few days.....:passout:
Bugs people usually talk about at Diamond are midges. They can get really cloudy when there is no wind and you can have them all over, in your food, smashed all over your clothes from sitting down... They don't bite, though, are are just a pain. End of June-early July can be a bad time for skeeters. Last year at that time the shady areas had some skeeters for sure. If I was camping in a shady, low wind spot I would expect a lot of skeeters. Even saying that, I didn't find them too bad around the resort and there are none on the lake itself.

Thank you sir! The midges get that bad at lava too and i am not sure what is worse. Them or mosquito. Anyways thanks for the info.

It's my understanding that the difference betwixt Paulina skeeters and Diamond Lake skeeters is that the skeeters at Diamond attack in waves, a very coordinated effort from formations that circle high above the intended victim.:D

I would agree with that!! perhaps they are more highly trained attack force.. kinda like skeeter marines!?!? :D
