I fished Davis Lake saturday afternoon and this was my biggest fish. Took a hare's ear. Measured right around 18 inches and was rather football-ish. This fish actually towed me around in my toon for 4 or 5 minutes!

My question is: Is this unusual? The Oregon state record whitefish is 4.0 pounds and I'm guessing this one at 2.75-3.0

Even bigger over in Wickiup... legit 20 inchers in Wickiup and quite a few of them.

not unusual at all... ive caught em on dries and spinners too...

we always joked about nobody wants to claim the record on the biggest whitey... and then we'd joke about going out to actually attempt the record just as a gag...

nothing like a tailhooked whitey taking you into your backing!

i would say its not totally common to catch one that big, but there are alot of places in central oregon that have huge white fish, davis lake being one of them.
