Well,

I finally did it. I have tried several times without success to catch a grayling. Yesterday, my wife and I chose a random river in Denali National Park and started walking and casting up a small stream. 2 hours later, my wife and I had tallied 39 grayling from 9-15 inches.

They were amazingly cognizant of us. If they saw a shadow or if we were skylined, it was all over in that hole. As long as we moved slow and minimized our profiles, the fishing was incredible.

All the while, there were Dall Sheep and moose in our vicinity.

It was really incredible. The cable for the camera is not with me...so pics will have to wait until Sunday.

Tomorrow, I am fishing the Kasilof......we will see how it goes.

Sweet.

I need to try that sometime.

How were the mosquitos?

Denali to the Kasilof is quite a trip.

Denali to the Kasilof is quite a trip.

We stopped fishing at 4 pm and drove to Soldotna. We got here at 1 am. What a difference. We went from 80 degrees and blistering hot. Soldotna is in the 50s and raining.

The bugs were not bad at all. We didn't even wear bug spray yesterday. Today we drove down to Homer and had lunch. There must be a thousand people there fishing for Halibut.
