Went on a trip up to Paulina Lake this last weekend. Main focus was brown trout. However, as beautiful as Paulina Lake is, it can be very tempermental. Not only the fishing, but the lake conditions itself, making it very difficult to troll.....

So the saying of "When life gives you lemons...

....you make some lemonade!"

But we did get the chance when the ice was not presenting problems for trolling for browns.....

And after a lot of hard work and trials and tribulations, we were rewarded handsomely with this....

Was a lot of fun and all the brown trout were released to live another day. The kokanee were not so lucky  But was a fun way to kill some time when we couldn't fish for browns due to ice.

This is the tip of the iceberg of what happened this weekend. Some of you may already know. If you don't know, send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll point you towards the website where you can read, as Paul Harvey states, "...the rest of the story!"

Holy Hookjaw BWild!!! :thisbig: That thing is an old bruiser for sure. He looks like a dinosaur. Yes, the season is still young, but congrats none the less for catching big fish of the year so far our of our beloved Newberry Crater.:applause:

If my work week goes well I will be making a run for a shot at a big brown myself this weekend:pray:

Nice Brian.:applause: Kokanee are fun aint they. I never diss the kokes, they sure do eat a lot better than browns. You should try catching the big ones at Wickiup. :food:

My nephew will be up there May 27th-28th, then with me 29th-30th at Wickiup or Crescent.

Jigging. Seemed like the trollers weren't doing so well on kokanee.
