I just looked at the entry form and rules for this year. If I remember correctly last year there was specific wording in the rules that prohibited two people in a boat from combining their fish for weigh in. That language is not there this year. I also see that almost all the CA derbys are "team" events. Is Green Peter a team event also?

David i just pulled last years derby entries, the only rule i see is #19 stating no transferring of fish between boats . Concerning California derbys yes they are all a team format . All of our derbys are single entries and would be against the rules to transfer fish to any other angler. we look forward to seeing you again Greg

Thanks for the clarification. I don't know what I was reading but I got it mixed up somehow, not hard to do anymore. See you at the derby.

I am with you there Moc, derby within a derby, as my son will be along as well. Remember, don't teach the "kids" all the tricks. Keep a little edge for yourself.

Haven't talked to Greg for a day or so, but we have several coming from the Valley, a contingent from California that is growing daily, some from the Bend area, and the usual group from the Medford area, and one from the coast and one from Washington that I know about so far. The list is growing daily. Not sure just how many entrants we have at this point but it certainly isn't too early to send in your entry form. We can even take them over the phone with a credit card. Call Greg 541-973-4831 or Ron 707-350-3430. See you there.

Got to GP late, started out with trolling motor problems, checked out the Island. Didn't mark a fish, crossed over to porta-let and picked up a trout. Scouted all over marking very few fish, picked up a 12" koke late in the day. Chased off the water at 5:00 by the Thunder storm. Came in to Thistle Creek behind another boat which said they got skunked. Should be interesting Sat.

Which ramp are you all using?
Also, this might be a stupid question, but, do all fish species count (Kokes, trout & chinook) or just the kokes?

All ramps will be usable this weekend. Entrants may use any ramp they desire.

Five kokanee may be weighed in, and one chinook may be weighed in for those in the side pot.

Some help would be appricated. Do we need to check in prior to fishing, and if so where? And I take it the weigh-in will be at Thistle Creek. I'll probly put in at Witcomb, as Thistle will likey be a zoo. Any additional info would be appricated.

You do not need to check in at this derby. But you do need to be registered for the derby before it stats. The derby starts at first legal fishing time in the morning and is on an honor system to not fish until it is legal. From the application:

12. The Tournament will officially begin 1 hour before sunrise.
13. Pre fishing is allowed prior to the day of the tournament, however no fishing is
allowed prior to the 1 hour before sunrise start time.
14. Weigh in will start at 1:00pm and end at 2:30pm Saturday. No late arrivals accepted.

Weigh-in will be at the Sunnyside Park located between Green Peter and Foster. That means you need to drive from GP down to the park for weigh-in and the BBQ.
