My daughter wants to go kokanee fishing sun. So I got out the magic 8 ball. That thing told me to ask the all knowing. So here I am asking, Should we go to Merwin or go to Green Peter? I have never fished G.P. before. Any help on location, depth, color,or favorite lure would be great. I will post when we get done and let people know if we did any good. Thanks for the help.

Here is a map of GP, I plan to be there Saturday for at least the morning. Kokes are being taken but it's a little slow, who knows what the warmer weather will bring. You can do well with gear from wedding rings to dodgers/hoochies, just be ready to try different options, colors and depths. I usually start around 20-30' and go from there.
Good Luck

We fished Green Peter on monday. As was said, Kokes were pretty slow, picked up one still fishing, one casting, and one trolling that was lost at the boat. The benefit of GP is you can always go into a cove and anchor up and catch a good number of trout with a few being holdover fish.

Fished GP today. One rod from 8-2 pm. Very Slow. Fished from 12 to 45 feet with Dodger and hoochie or wedding ring spinner. Used corn and Gulp maggots. Caught one 12 inch koke and no other bites all day. The fish was caught at 30 feet on a pink UV hoochie with maggots. Talked to a few others and they either had no bites or caught one or two and that was it. Today was the first trip this year and I don't think I have ever marked less fish on my finder. A few fish sprinkled around here and there but no large schools at all. Water temp is 56 degrees. It was a nice day however. Lots of sun with very little wind and no real chop on the water when I left.
