Small mouth spawn is near, 52 bass on Wed. ((Now with photo!!!))

The bass are on the move FINELY. I got 20 bass on senkos, 17 bass on a crank bait and 15 bass on grubs. The bass were hammering the crank baits today! I Fished more new water today and ended up with 52 bass today. The biggest just just under 4 pounds and about three over 3 pounds. All were small mouth bass. The females are staging but not looking for beds yet. The males are up making beds. Looks like small mouth bass are driven more by water temperatures than moon phases. They are going to spawn next week. Fishing Friday again.

The bite is very good at the spawn.But I try to let them do their spawn and go after pre-spawn bass. I love to fish for pre-spawn bass.

Some may be a little shocked at my lure choices. I fish a senko allot. But when the conditions are right for other lures I will make changes. And the conditions were very right for the other lures. cranking around the rocks and grub fish with the current. Yes I was out in the Columbia river with my pontoon boat, But safety does comes first.

nice fish. me and my buddy "bassinjay" are gonna head out to the columbia on sunday & monday.. i hope we can find some crank bait fish nothin better then almost getting a rod ripped out of you hand.

All the females were FULL of eggs, so I let them go to make LOTS of bass for the Columbia River so we can all enjoy some good fishing!
