Just wondering how many Ifishers are going to be at Brownlee in June? Thinking about it before it gets too hot.

When the roll is called over yonder I'll be there....June 2 and 3 with CC and co-worker of mine. I may need to go to St. Paul to collect some cut bait..

well river kid ive only been three times and never had what i would call poor fishing. 2 years ago they said it would be slow when we got there but it was better than most fishing we ever have around here. and beautiful to boot.

I've never been there yet, but am a big channel/flathead fisherman. When and where would be the best time for a bank fisherman, and what works best for bait? Really appreciate any tips.

My wife and I are planning a trip leaving the valley on June 16 and planning on staying about a week. We have never fished at Brownlee, but are looking forward to it. We have a 21 ft NorthRiver. Can we get this boat launched at the popular boat launches? What / where will the best Crappie fishing be?

I would vote crappie guts, don't throw away the best bait, eat the meat!

CARP TOURNEY May 30th. We do fish some too on the other days!
Hope the weather is hot and the carp are suspended just under the surface!

I have an 18 ft G/3 with a 90 horse jet. Pumped mud until I couldn't any more, then I poled it up the Powder River flats, above Hewitt, and have seen the carps with their backs at least 3 inches out of the water, and they were everywhere! Have never been much of a bow fisherman, but this is one fishery that makes me want to buy a bow. Good luck in the tourney! Looks like lots of fun! Too bad we won't be there until later, would be a blast to watch.

Oh, that is a few years back, but we usually manage that every year we go. We missed last year, my Dad hurt his back and couldn't go. See you guys in a few weeks.

Yep! Hard to beat Crappie gut's for Catfish, plentiful, & free, stay on the hook well, & since most people throw their Crappie carcassas in the Res, it's the food source they are attracted to this time of year, works just as well in Owyhee Res, don't skimp, gob on 3 or 4 gut's, & or gills, & or meat & you can't go wrong.

Ha! If you can't catch a fish, you would be the worst fisherman this world has ever seen.

You could catch all you want with a hand line, right now!:passout:

The bite was up and down in the Powder River Arm. One day you'd get 10, the next only 1. I talked to a local guide and he sent me into the main stem. In coves on the Idaho side cats were finning. The bite was wide open on the main river.

Found the Mormon crickets that started a bunch of catfish events...

Wife holding the 12 pound "kitty" that she caught! The reel sounded like a tuna when she set the hook!

Finished 6 day trip with 80 cats for two boats. This is the time to be there! Good luck guys!

would it be worth the drive if fishing the bank?

Haven't really ever bank fished from there. They were catching them off the dock, one night 9, the next 0, the next 13, the next 2...comes and goes. Don't know if you ran between Oxbow Dam and Brownlee Dam if you could do good bank fishing. Guess it all depends on where you live, how far you have to drive, and what kind of gas mileage you get. Oh yeah, and if the wife will let you spend more than one day there... :D
