I'm not really into kokanee fishing. But the wife is. (She's from back east and Kokanee fishing is about all there is. Well, it's Idaho to be more precise. :D ) Anyway, she wants me to take her after some Kokanee. If we go to Wickiup we'll drive right by Odell. I've fished both and from what everyone is saying on this board we really can't do wrong in going to either. :smash:
What's everyone's thoughts on this. Odell or Wickiup? Oh, and we have downriggers and she knows how to use them!!

If you want to jig I'd go to Odell. The jigging at Wickiup has been poor. But if you would like larger fish and like to troll, then Wickiup might be a better choice.

both of those are fine koke waters. id take odell over wickiup as odell is more consistent. id also consider paulina or LBC.

This was a tough one for me too but finally decided on Wickiup. Odell is the regular stomping ground, but the fish there get a whole lot heftier by late June and July. From the reports on this forum, the Wickiup kokes are already running 14+ inches which is hard to pass up on. Also the status of some of the campgrounds at Odell is uncertain (Princess and Trapper Creeks) and there's probably still quite a bit of snow in them. The weather looks pretty good for next week, so I'll be heading over the hill Monday with a full jig box and some trolling gear. Hoping to hook onto some of those big ones!
