I didnt want to hijack Goey's thread about thread so I started another. So I learned that the glint I see by the guide's is do to my poor burninshing. So, here is/are my questions. I know you burnish to pack the threads, is the point of it to take the round out of the thread or smash it flat to cover more area? And do you do it as you go, or when the wrap is complete?

You wrap and pack as you go, and than burnish when finished wrapping.

What exactly is burnishing?

As I wrap I will take a platic spoon and "pack" the thread tight by using an edge to push the thread in. When the wrap is complete I will sometime use and edge to push the threads closer together (packing?) and I have used the edge and curved parts of the spoon to rub the threads back and forth to kind of allign them, even them out, or fill in some gaps...is that burnishing?!?

Pack, burnish and when all else fails a sharpie marker can come to the rescue. Even over a first coat it's not too late to find a matching color sharpie marker and fill in the "glint" wait for the marker to dry all the way, second coat and voila no more glint.

Another tip for preventing your guide feet from showing through is to prep your guide feet by grinding the ends to a gentle slope, even if they come pre-ground doing some prep work on your guide feet will prevent headaches with wrapping and coating later.
