Basskitt and I hit Green Peter on Saturday, got to the boat ramp around 7:00 and the lot was already pretty full for a Bass tournament. Started trolling towards the Dam with some Hoochies and flasher set up, nothing! Ended up down by the Dam, saw others jigging and a couple trollers and a lot of debri, still nothing and an occasional fish beep. Headed from there towards the island, lots of boats on the water and few near the island and arm, nothing! Alarm going off like crazy, showing a lot of fish not far from the surface, are we in to them? Basskitt switched to a Purple flat fish and it was fish on at 25'! But, line was around the line clip on the downrigger and there was no reeling to be had. :passout: We did see fish right before he shook the flat fish, looked like a nice chrome Koke, maybe 13" or so. About that time while spirits were raising, someone flipped the switch and the wind was on and with a vengeance. We tried a couple circles in the area, but nothing! So, we headed to up the arm to avoid the wind still marking fish all the way but the bite was just no happening. We saw one other boat come in and they got one on and lost it. We were back at the ramp just before 3:00 and thankfully just before the Bass tourney way in. Talked to one Bass fisher who said they had no Bass and the lake had just shut down, he did say he saw two kids bank fishing catching trout left and right. Talked to another Koke fisher and they had nothing, lost one fish at the boat. Where was the bite? Lot of boats but we did not see anyone (other then the one in the QV arm) else with a fish on, or netted. We tried various hoochie colors, Wedding ring, Purple flat fish, Needle fish and all sporting either a chunk of worm or corn.
Adding insult to injury, my drivers side rear brake shoes stuck when I set the brake on the ramp. Didn't notice until we stopped in Lebanon and I smelled brakes, three cool wheels, one hot one! Cable had slack so I smacked the brake backing plate a couple times and hoped for the best. Long story short, I put new shoes on the truck after I made it back to Albany so I got that going for me. :D
Picked up a total of five, three near the island, two up middle fork arm east of Tally Creek.
Started at 0630 flatlining wedding rings and hoochie mamma, nothing. Went down with the downrigger to 25 feet, using watermelon dodger and purple hoochie, picked up two. That went dead and I switched to a white hoochie, picked up another one. That went dead so I relocated up middle fork, same setup and hooked two more.
I wish I could have stayed longer but had to leave just after noon.
Lost only one but that was due to my stupidity. I let him get to close the steel downrigger cable while I was trying to net him and as soon as that mono hit the cable he was gone. The line got cut between the hooks and the dodger but luckily he had rolled the hoochie up the line to the dodger so all I lost were the hooks, and of course the fish.

both reports seem much better from this side of the computer. You guys could have spent the day swinging a pic ax. OH, my aching back.
thanks for the report and better luck next time out
I was at GP as well Saturday the 9th, caught one Rainbow, wife lost one right at the boat. Using Wedding rings and corn. I'm going to get some Hoochies now though.

Fished Green Peter today with a few friends for several hours. Started by still fishing the boom, caught one koke, moved to a little cove and did some casting with bait and lures, caught another koke and 9 trout, trolled near the island and had a nice koke to the surface before shaking it, ran up the quartzville arm and managed 3 more trout. All in all a nice day, lots of debris and the wind was pretty strong. Didn't get much rain so we were happy. Good luck to all!
