In the stocking schedule the name says Silver Creek Res. but on a map, looks like its called Silver Lake. Its the lake just outside of Silverton Oregon. Just wanted to make sure its the same lake. I was planning on taking the toon there tommoro. Was scheduled for stocking this week. thanks for the help. I will post a report also.

Sure I will. The weather is calling for maybe a few showers in the morning, then nice in the afternoon. Not sure if they stocked it yet, but usually they do by thurs of the week its scheduled.

I believe they stocked it last week. I went on Saturday and had a few hits, and saw 1 fish caught. The water was murkey from the rain, and the wind and downpours chased me off the water. My nephew didn't care much for the rain. :D
It should pick up if the water clears up.
I'll be waiting for the report.

Just got back home. I fished out of the pontoon boat for about 3 hours. Caught around 20-30 trout. I caught most just dragging a worm, but also a few on whollybuggers on my fly rod. I missed alot of fish fly fishing, but caught alot with bait. Most were in the 6" to 10" range, but I did catch one 14". I released all I caught. The people on the bank didnt seem to be catching any fish. The fish were thickest across the lake, and up against the dike. Would have to have a boat to get to the fish today. The lake was stocked yesterday. Lots of eager to bite fish, if you can get to them. Good luck yall!

oh btw there were also a few guys in Kyacks(sp) that were nailing them on spinners.

Thanks for the report CB. Sounds like some fast and furious catching goin' on there right now! Good job on the catch'n and releasin'.
Never been there before- is there a paved boat ramp? Is it usable all year long or does the level drop way down in the winter?
Thanks, Jim

Yes Jim, The ramp is paved, kind of steep, but not too bad. Its very narrow, but room enough to launch one boat or a few toons at once. It was only my second time there, and first time on the water, so I am not sure of the Level at different times of the year. There also is a sign at the ramp that says only electric motors at 30 pounds thrust or less. Well 30 is the smallest they make i think, and the one I have for my toon has is a 36, the 30 was too short. Its not too big of a lake to row anyway.
Have fun if you go. btw, have you fished Hagg Lately?

It is useable and at the same level all year long. (It is an earthen dam with no outlet other than over the top of the spill way) They do however close the gates in the winter and it is walk in only. The synopsis would tell you if it is open year round. I only fish it when the gates are open. :)

The gate has been opened on a shortened schedule this past winter. I beleive 8 to 4 or something similiar. This past winter was the first time. There is a very nice trail up the north side of the canyon that dead ends at private property. About a mile or so but a nice winter time get out with weather permitting. Also a few kyakers and canoeists use it but not many fisherman. Your after holdovers and the fishing cools off with the water but it is a nice quiet place for a sunny winters day visit with the grandkids.
