I have a buddy coming in next week from Utah, wants to do some bass fishin, and we want to take a trip down south. Neither of us have ever fished these resevoirs, but have heard good things. Anyone fished them? What can I expect in regards to cover? Any other info on these lakes would be appreciated, we will probably spend the first day at Triangle, but I have fished that many times, so no problem there. Thanks guys.

We need some more warm weather to really turn on the bass at cooper cr. Plat I may be better, never fished it but it is smaller. I was up at cooper cr. Sunday trout fishing and it looked pretty slow for the guys bass fishing. There was a guy doing pretty well on the crappie off one of the docks. He was using real small jigs and 2 lb test though, he does it a lot and I dont think anybody else was doing any good. As far as structure, you will find some stumps and fallen logs. There are also quite a few grass beds and some good protected coves. The water is clear enough that you can usually do pretty well just sight fishing if the fish are in shallow water but with the rain we have gotten the last couple days it may color it up a bit. If you like trout fishing you can knock the heck out of them though, I have been getting about 10 trout for every hour of fishing just trolling nightcrawler tipped wedding rings.

I fished there a few weeks ago and it was gettin ready to explode. the fish were startin to move up shallow but weren't in full prespawn eat anything mode yet. the water is real clear and the bigger fish were pretty skiddish. I would say try jigs or drop shots deeper outside the weedlines unless they have moved up all the way and are in attack mode.
