Looking for a good person up here in the portland eastside or gresham or troutdale to Hood River to replace/rewrap a guide that the ceramic popped out. Its an old LCI and I want it to match and look original. No Hack Jobs! Any suggestions? PM me so it keeps the mods happy with the non-sponser info. Would like good turn around time too!

Thanks all!

Trick is going to be finding the matching guide - saw some at the 2008 rod building workshop have not seen any since so someone will have to have some stock of those. There is a shop in Camas that does rod repair a member here works there can't remember his moniker - search on the Rod Building forum for "rod repair" and you should find the info you need. Ollie Damons also repairs rods again the problem being the availability of the matching guide. I'd offer to do that for you, but I know I don't have the right guide so you are best off looking around.

Post this in the Rod Building Forum and you might get more responses.

The FUJI guides shown here were widely used back about the time of the LCI rods. I can't recall if LCI used them or not. Lamiglas used them almost exclusively on their Salmon/Steelhead rods 20 or so years ago.
Does yours look similar to any of these?

Another problem is matching the thread color . The old LCI Co. had their own thread color. Matching it will be hard. I had some of their thread, but I used it up years ago.
Thanks Mike

Thats why i want someone good. I want it to remain a sharp looking rod. Even if its not perfect... Atleast as close as possible.

The thread is that blue grey color but more blue. And the guides are black frame with a graphite grey colored insert.

Its a 9', 2pc, 15-30, 2-6 oz, striker, SSTR906

Excellent plunker and good tide water bobber rod.

graphite is darker than that IMO - think he is looking at SIC or Alconite. Hope it isn't SIC since Fuji doesn't do a black frame anymore. Pac bay Hiloy might also be closer - just thinking out loud

I have some of the older style that were somewhat lighter in color, like the ones pictured. They were the FUJI Hardloy. I did notice the newer ones are darker.
Makes it tough to do a perfect match when styles and materials change over the years.

Hey all thatnks for the help. I actually just remembered a have 2 butt sections and one top section I got at a garage sale for 1 dollar and were out in my shed for just this perdicament or a broken rod.
So.... I got guides!:meme: now who wants to wrap them and make the thread match? Anyone?
