How are spoons made? I assume that they are pressed out with a hydrolic press but i was wondering if they could be made with a hand press.

I would imagine you could. You would need to make some sort of a form for it....lead??

i've never actually seen how they're made, but being that brass is a soft metal, if you could build or get your hands on some dies for making them, it wouldn't be too hard to work with in a hydraulic press.

Google machine tools punch press or dies..May be better to buy them by the 100 from lakeland or basspro or the other 3 that slipped my mind. Any questions drop me a note.

I've made many small, light spoons for throwing on a fly rod from old damaged/ rusted roostertail spinner blades. Just punch a hole for the small split rings/siwash hook and put a small reversed bend in the top with your pliers. Fishes much like a Dick Nite spoon.
