Anyone have a suggestion on where to have a pump rebuilt locally?

I bet Stevens Milwaukie could.

What leads you to conlude needs rebuilding? What specifically is wrong?

If it is a newer one with the liner, just buy the parts and fix it yourself.
They're not that complicated.

If it is an older one w/o the replaceable liner, you'll have buy a whole new bowl.
That is if it's been shimmed to the max. It might just be a matter of shim adjustment too.

The bearring seals failed according to an e-mail I recieved from the company who makes it. I stripped it down and ended up breaking one of the four bolts that hold the bearring assembly in the housing. Water was spraying out of the little hole in the side of the pump on the opposite side of the flushing port and grease fitting. The rest of the bolts feel like they will break too, so I was just going to take it to Pacific Boatland and let them drill out the broken bolts and heli coil the holes. Just waiting for my wife to approve funds.

Ouch, that bites. Sorry to hear about that.
When they put it back together make sure they put Never-Seize Marine on the bolts.
Good luck. And hope your back on the water soon.

Funny, John said the same thing today. I'll get it done. So, did you buy your own shotgun yet?
