Building A "Tackle Box" Under Port Seat ? ('99 Striper W/A 1850) Have a '99 Striper 1850 (18') Walkaround. Starboard (helm) seat is on short post and sits on top of factory made cooler (never seen one on any other boat). Rear of the cooler has seating pad that snaps on to it.
Port seat is on tall post.
My thought has been to build a "Tackle Box" underneath it, using starboard, so that my Plano boxes from my portable tackle box, can fit and are more accessible. I keep my tackle box in the cuddy as not to clutter up my cockpit while fishing. Figured I would attach the floor mount for the current seat to the top of this box and then mount the seat with a short post.
Has anyone done this, any suggestions, is there an aftermarket product already built that is reasonably priced ?
