I am assuming you are talking about thread spools for tying. If so, just take a couple spools and just set them on the table next to each other so they are not touching. Take a tape measure and measure from the middle of one to the middle of the next.

I would do that but I am trying to compensate for larger spools.

I am planning on building a spool tray and I was wondering how far apart the peggs should be :whazzup: . has anyone built one before?

Place them a little wider than the diameter of the largest spool. OR you can just drill a series of holes and have an "adjustable" spool tray. JMHO :shrug:
