yes, thank you Tanner! A fun time was had by all. I appreciate you being cool about me showing up with babybuttskunk. He slept well in the back bedroom.
Hope we can get an even bigger group at the next one, but it was good to meet everyone.
Stew, thanks for bringing the video, those steelies were visions of beauty!
TC, Awesome book you shared with me, from one illustrator to another, you've got much talent and a great imagination. I'm inspired!
cheers,

The John Day float trip sounds like more fun than a guy should have. Can't wait!

Wished I could have made the port night but will meet you guys on the Crooked in March and the John Day later.

He never shows up at any of our get togethers so we aren't really sure who he is
Actually he is one of the moderators on this board

As a moderator on the fly board, you probably have to work about as often as the Carrot crew.

one thing we all learned last night in order to catch a 20lb steelie you have to wear a red Ascot around your neck. and have someone on shore playing the 70s sound track from every movie you ever watch in high school on the old reel to reel movie cams. And using a wakeing fly for steelies gets your heart going

Sorry about the no show. I have come down with yet another cold. Most likely from the wife who has it and was off work several days last week and/or the grandson who also has one. It is nasty so decided not to expose anyone else.

I did have intentions of showing up as I fished the clack yesterday. Unfortunatley by the end of the day, the cold took hold and I was not feeling too chipper by end of the day. About the time I was going to head towards Tanners (As I was not that far away) I just wasn't up to it. Been home all day in bed.

Glad you all had a good time. I tried to weight taking guff from Stew for not showing up or taking guff from you all for exposing you to it...hope I made the right choice.

Giz...

Thanks Tanner for hosting the IFish Flyfishers. The Cigar and Port night was fairly light on cigars and port, which is probably a testament to maturity and common sense. Thanks, Stew, for the video. Gets the heart to pumping just seeing images. Nearly had a seizure waiting for the 20 lb. steelie to hit the waking fly on the surface.

Thank you all for your kind words and for coming to my home. I had a great time last night and look forward to more events like it. I especially look forward to fishing with some of you guys and am very serious about setting up a 2 day float on the John Day for smallies.
