Just looked out the back window and spoted the first March Brown perched on the window screen. Less than a foot away a little black stone was waiting for the air to warm.
Fortunately, both are a sign of a healthy ecosystem in the creek out back. Unfortunately, we live in the North part of the valley and trout season doesn't open until the last Saturday in May. Still, it does my heart good to see them we beasties.
