Just kidding, they go out w/ tomorrow's mail.

This pic will serve as the key so we all know who tied what.

I learned a few things in this swap:
1. I have a lot to learn from you guys about tying steelhead flys.
2. Taking a nice picture of a bunch of flies isn't easy.
3. Edna Farber looks bad on the 83 cent stamp.

Kudos to everyone. Recipes can be posted on this thread if you like. Also, everyone please report back if/when you field test any of these flies. Unfortunately, I am developing a severe case of springer fever (and have a new boat) so I may not get to put much mileage on these flies this year

Good looking and creative patterns! Funny that you mention springers because a few of those look like they have chinook potential. I've done really well on clack springers later in the run on a fly not too different than Stephan's Shrimp.

Good work.

Flies went to the postoffice this morning.

Brad, I'll call you tonight.

Jon, my cat really took a liking to your flies, so I think that means it's a winner?

Riverkeeper, thanks for running this swap, and thanks to all for participation and some nifty tying by the looks of the photo. If it's OK can I call and come pick mine up? Thanks

Riverkeeper,

The correct spelling is Stefan, I'd suggest spelling it phonetically but as you can see phonetically is spelled with a ph why is that?

Anyways Stefan's shrimp is for winter steelhead no fair double dipping and catching two species with the same fly. One species per fly swap thats how it works.

Who knows maybe my salmon fly will catch steelhead.

TC,

Would you put the recipe up for Martha? I'd like whip up a few of those for extras. I ask because I can't make out all the materials from the pic and am impatient and can't wait to get mine. Thanks.

Stevo, I dropped yours off at your house this morning.

Doug, TC printed a recipe with his fly, which is coming to you in the mail.

Seems to me GBS, that you should bring this poor whipped wall paper stripper a beer for being the swapmaster <font size="2" face="verdana,arial,helv">graemlins/idea.gif graemlins/idea.gif graemlins/idea.gif

Rk - Thanks for putting in all the time and effort to get this swap done. All be checking the mail everyday. At least the postman won't give me %#$^$ since it won't say Cabela's on it.

Thanks again,

Riverkeeper, thank you, you did not have to do that. You are a hell of a nice guy. IOU1. I am very excited to drown some of these badboys, they all look like they will hunt!

That is a fine lookin' bunch of flies.
All who did not participate now know what they missed. They almost look too pretty to use. Almost. NOT!

Great-looking bunch of flies, guys!

Now I DEFINITELY need to break out my fly rod and my fly tying fingers. (Jack's fishing rule No. 2: There's nothing more interesting than the inside of another fisherman's tackle/fly box. )

I think a contest is in order: for the biggest/most fish caught on an ifish swap fly.

Thanks Riverkeeper and everyone who tied. Flies look great. May field test tomorrow.

My first field test outing on the South Coast last Monday (2/17) was a bust - rising river out of shape. :depressed:
