any word on the deschutes???? i was wondering if anyone has been out there in the last couple days and how the color of the water is. and how were the roads? i am thinking about the area below shears falls.

There was still snow on the access road on MLK day. I'm heading there Sat, hopefully all is good. ODOT shows no snow in Maupin, too warm.

I was also wondering how the river is above Maupin, thinking about heading over that way this weekend.

might see you guys there. i haven't decided to do it yet... moody is at 8900 cfs this morn, and it might be too high if this rain keeps coming down.

I talked to my cousin the other day Dudley Nelson. He was just getting ready to leave for the Copper River
Canada. Said he tied 100 Skeena Skeeters up for the trip.

He told me Bob Tolman and some friends fished the Deschutes last week and they landed Thirteen Steelhead
probably on hardware. The river is hot 70 Deg ? or so.

I am thinking this rain will probably help. I am waiting till after labor day to do a four day float perhaps.
