Repairing with Rod Bond

I need to remove the but cap on a rod and replace it with a new and it was first installed using Rod Bond and as you know Rod Bond is very strong. So my question is can I remove this but cap that is glued with Rod Bond or is it just a lost cause as removing it my just mess it up for the worst I don't know as I have never removed anything that used Rod Bond I just hear that its very strong

Try soaking the butt cap in hot water then remove it.

If it doesn't come off. Get the knife and remove it.

You can cut it off with a knife and always use some sandpaper to smooth out the rough spots
