I just typed "Odell Kokanee" into the search field and found this list of 25+ pages of discussions about Odell. You might be able to find a few answers in there somewhere!

Last year was my first visit to Odell. I just went where I saw a lot of boats and did what they did. First thing in the morning we were trolling, then I saw boats starting to anchor and jig. So did I. It worked, caught a lot of fish.

The folks in the store were very helpful but I would advise you to have a well stocked tackle box as their prices are a little high. Luckly I had a couple orange buzz bombs (the hot jig when we were there) so I did not have to spend $5 to $6 for one there.

Go to where the boats are and watch what they are doing...also the folks at both the lodge and camp ground stores will help...early in the season cast and retrieve jigging works better than drop jigging...if they are catching them trolling with down riggers, and you don't have one, try long lining with up to 6oz of lead at the beginning of your gear...I have had success with this in sequence...15lb main line, 6oz lead attached to fin on front of ford fender, school of minnows attached to bottom of fender, 10lb seaguar leader to lure 4' to 5'....yes it is a lot of gear and you need a stout but flexable rod, run the line back 40 or so pulls. The rod will bend under the weight, but will bounce when a koke hits. You'll need a long handled net to get to the end of all the gear...but a long handle net helps in most cases with kokes anyways.
I've had very good luck with this method when trolling...I'll run two rods off the side on my down riggers and the two rods out the back with this method....good luck and give a report.
