In this era of bailouts, wealth re-allocation, and miscellaneous redistributions, I think it's high time that "farm ponds for the masses" be added to future legislative agendas. Although I'm comfortable with my current health care coverage, I have been deprived of farm pond access and have not, therefore, been able to enjoy early season hawgs like so many of my fellow IFishers. I'm confident that the denial of basic access to the very item which would so greatly enhance my Spring outlook puts me within a special class of individuals who deserve due consideration. Therefore, I urge lobbyists, authors of initiatives and referendums, and supporters of this concept to join arms and push for this change. Us lower tiered, farm pond deprived citizens, will sing high praise for these future changes the second we feel that early season farm pond hawg tug on the end of line!! Thank you one and all. JB
PS: If it gets me on a productive farm pond any faster, then I'll forego all public discussion on this matter and settle for an Executive Order providing me access!!

It appears Socialism rears its ugly head even on fishing forums:meme:
The republican in me suggests using google earth, and Blm maps in order to find the little ponds out there that very few others have stumbled onto......They are out there.
I just took a flight from Tri Cities to Seatte......I looked down just before landing and saw there are some very interesting ponds near Sea-tac airport. Looks like some bushwacking and a float tube could get you in the money!

jaybee,
If I were you I would not hold my breath and wait for that to pass. However, there is a way for you to get to one of those ponds now.
Its called networking. You have seen the people here that are going to these ponds, so now it is up to you to start making friends with these people. I don't have access to any private ponds, but I do have two friends that have access to a couple private ponds. One of which is fishing by himself almost everyday since he is unemployed.(He is in despate need of a cameraman) I think it is time for you to start making new fishing friends.
Remember: Ask not how your country can get you access to farm ponds. Ask how you can get access to farm ponds yourself.

Good replies :applause: More thoughts on presidential quotes...
"The only thing we have to fear... is getting skunked!" FDR
"Four score and seven fish ago..." Abraham Lincoln
"Ich bin ein bass fisherman." JFK
"We believe that all men are created equal.... Just that some can flat out fish others!" Eisenhower
"Speak softly, and carry a flipping stick." Ted Roosevelt
"I did not have sexual relations with that fish!" Clinton

Ask not what your country can do for you, but where in your country you can find a private bass pond?

As 1bidfish said, its all about networking. I dont have access to a single private pond. Except my aunts, but its bone dry in september so that dont count. But 2 friends of mine do. between the 2 buddies that opens up 5 private ponds. That equals out to so many bass above 4 pounds each year its not even funny. Anyways if you no anyone in the farming industry, Thats a good place to start asking questions. Also Dont forget you buddy that works at the lumber mill with that big old mill pond that hasnt been used in 12 years. And you have to know someone that has ties to an old gravel pit.
