I Started fly fishing on Fall River about 15 years ago and had learned a few spots and commonly caught some fish. Well about 9 years ago about 6 of us were camping and fishing Fall River. I did my usual in the spots I had normally fished, but 2 guys came back to camp that night with a fish story of 60 fish caught in just a couple hours. Needless to say we were very skeptical since this was the first time the 2 had been fly fishing. So we had them take us up river toward the Ranger station and was in awe. The river was boiling, you waded in and the fish would just spread a part. There had to be a several hundred fish in the half mile stretch. One of the new guys had a old metal telescoping fly rod (which had to weigh 10 pounds) that we actually caught fish. One point I was releasing my buddies fish with my rod tucked under my arm and line dangling behind me and hooked a fish. It didn't matter what you used or the size of the fly. We caught so many trout that I had to start casting left handed because my right arm was sore. It was unbelievable. We had to have caught 500 fish in 3 days. Obviously the hatchery had cleaned out there tanks there by the Ranger station but it was the most fun I have ever had flyfishing and will always remember that weekend. I just wish my daughter had not taped over my video of it. Thanks for letting me tell my story.
