I just got a new fishing craft - After much deliberation I went with 14 foot tubes by Jacks and a frame by blackbear - ordered it through waterready in Lyons - I wanted something small enough, but big enough at the same time - now I am looking for ideas on how to set it up, organize things, etc. etc. - never owned a pontoon boat or raft before so its all new to me -I need some more experience behind the oars before I hit the deschutes - thanks

Congrats. sounds like a good size boat. I have a 16' cataraft it's versatile beyond belief.

I rigged an anchor system off the aft ends of the pontoons using the D-rings. If you run the anchor from the frame the boat will track back and forth. Installed a rod holder on the back of my 120 qt cooler. Fish finder runs on a small marine battery. For accessing the CR I put on a transom and an 8 horse merc. She goes about 15 or 20mph.

An extra oar is also a good idea.

You may also stop in at Andy & Bax on Grand ave. see Riley Baxter tell him I (Roland Howard)sent you in, he is a wizard when it comes to fab work and has tons of hours on the water behind the oars.
