Just curious if anyone has been getting out and bank fishing green peter lately. I was out there the other day (in the cold) and managed 9 fish in about 2 hours. I missed several fish, way more than I would like to say but was happy with the size of fish being caught. 7 were holdover rainbows, one kokanee, and one chinook. Fish ranged from 11-14 inches with the chinook being 9 or so inches. Great bite and would be easy to catch limits if someone would be willing to wait them out and not get to frustrated with the light bites and missing numerous fish!

Nice work benny. It's unlikely you could have topped that action even in a boat. Were you fishing over by the dam?

Benny:
Where were you fishing? I've only been there once since the level started coming back up, but we got skunked! We tried by Thistle Creek and both sides of the dam...horrible weather, it was on the weekend of 03/14-15.

Benny Boy the limit for Trout is 5 Just to clear the air.......
Why is it that when someone says they caught 9 fish, somebody decides that they must have kept them all and were over the limit? I have been fishing my whole life and although I do enjoy keeping some fish I release a lot so others can catch them. Not trying to rant and rave but seriously this comment was worthless. But...thanks for the info.
For the guys that asked where and had something worthwhile and possitive to say. I fish several spots but often like to fish past kokanee bridge where the water starts to back up towards Quartzville. No, I wasn't fishing the stream either. The other spot I like is right before thistle, on the corners. If you take the time to hike down to the water in some of the other tough areas it really pays off as well. Good luck and PM me if you need more detailed areas :D

Thanks for the response to Silver Eagles post, I was about to respond the same as he did...in his defense that was the first thing I thought when I read your post :flowered: Must be because I catch and eat...especially the kokes.

I hope I didn't offend, but I just don't like when someone feels the need to criticize or assume. I catch a lot of fish and do like eating them! (I have 4 trout in the smoker right now) but I also enjoy catching fish just to catch them. There really seem to be a lot of holdovers in the lake right now and they are pretty easy to catch. My biggest advice for GP is if you don't catch something or have a bite, go to another spot and make a few more casts. Good luck!

No offense to me I thought this was an information site, if someone reads that you caught 9 and 7 trout and wasn't thinking they might have thought the limit was ten like it used to be, I didn't think you caught and keep more than your limit, great fishing, did you see a guy in a Ranger with a boat launch at the SS Point and fish the area around the dam? Just curious......tight lines to all........Love this site

No worries, I will be a bit more clear in the future. Anyways I didn't see a ranger at the boatlaunch. Was that you? I will pay better attention next time but I stayed clear of the dam and had my mind on one spot! I did fish again today and had a lot of luck (another post) good luck to all!
