I am thinking of hitting the Hood tomorrow. Can anyone let me know what the water conditions are like right now. I imagine it's very milky but was curious if some fish are squirting up in there. Any report would be greatly appreciated especially if it saves me a trip.

Haven't seen any reports and I won't be out there for awhile (at least until it rains a bit). Everyone else is elsewhere... Drano...yadda, yadda, yadda...

Lots of steelhead going over Bonneville so who knows? Be sure to let us know how you do.
Good luck

Thanks for the input! Now for the report, I slept in and watched football. I'll probably head out there next weekend.

Coming over the river on Saturday (9/6) - the river was olive drab with silt. The Deschutes also was milky green - White River must have let loose last week.

Now, the real question is - do the rivers still fish in these conditions?

I've heard, don't remember where that the boys in Alaska have mastered fishing off color water due to snow/glacier melt. I think they said something about genuine Gold plate spinners are the only way to go. The only problem is the only gold I get to buy is for my wife.
