That tiny white fly is most likely calabedis...I had great success with that fly on Goose Lake a few weekends ago. I don't have a picture of what I used...but go to google.com and type in fly fishing...you will get more than enough sites to check out...and see what flies they are selling..with pictures

our club went up a couple of years ago and we had great success on a red and purple beadhead wooly bugger #10 or so. I also used olive WB's and did just great. Adams are always helpful when the hatch is on or wet hackles trolled. I was impressed with the scenery, but the fish all seemed to be stockers! and given the atrocious road, Id choose some other lake myself. Oh, yah, and lots of yellow jackets on the shore!!! that did it for me!!

Thanks guys, I appreciate your input. Yeah that road is awful, but the keeps the traffic down I guess. I thought the trout were small as well. I did get one Fat mama though, thought maybe it was a hold over.

Hello all. Going up tomorrow to try and get a view of Mars. I plan on hitting Badger lake and have been there twice. Once while scouting two years ago Lots of chop due to the winds. I casted the heaviest spinner I had and limited in twenty minutes. Went last year and the float tube guys were doing well w/ flies. I used a bobber and a fly (not sure which one) and caught four in about 3 hours. So I am borrowing a float tube this time to try and I have a huge assortment of flies. Last time I tried to match what I saw, which was a tiny white fly. My question is, is this what I should do? Or Can anyone recommend a fly pattern? graemlins/1zhelp.gif A PIC would really help!

Here's my report - the lake is seriously low... biggest fish I saw was about ten inches.. A brook trout at that.. I didnt do very well at all. I got two on flies... and they were very small... The bee's were every where, but didn't bother me.. The road is still very rough. We came in the bennett pass way and left the other way that dumps you off on 4840 I believe..

There is a lake nearby which is fun to fly fish on for brookies. It's a small hike but worth it if you can figure it out. I can't quit4e mouth the words to tell you but it is veryt close and starts with a "j".

Thanks for Tip about lawerance lake.
I was told of that "j" lake by a gentleman at Badger lake last weekend. I camped up on the ridge by the y in the road. Nice spot.
I heard the "j" lake was small and shallow.
