Me and my son will be fishing the east side from the mouth. We will be there at about 2 or 3 and will head up from the state park then for an evening of fly fishing....weather permitting of course. If it's very warm then we won't stress the fish but if the water temp is in the low 60's then we'll be there.
Anyone want to join us?

I would love to fish with you, but I will be in Medford that day. Maybe I'll have a report from down south.

Look forward to fishing with you some other time.

Had a great time on the D last night thanks to Stew and son. Water was 64 degrees and a few fish were rolling, but not a lot of action. Had a nice take on a greenbuttskunk - sucker. graemlins/dork.gif Stew caught the most incredible sucker I've ever seen - it lept head high a coupla times - almost smacked him in the noggin once.
Then, with about 45 minutes of daylight left, I had a take on a freight train. Hefty fish, put up a nice fight, unfortunately it came unbuttoned before getting a look at it.
Let's do it again soon.

Yeah suckers on a spey rod....the ultimate
Fun trip cousin
Saw the fish counts in the paper today
Steelhead over Bonneville - 7700 +
over The Dalles Dam - 700+
Has to be a lot of fish milling around between the two dams. No tribal gillnet activity that I could see.
The outdoor section in todays Oregonian say fishing is good in the lower river but we saw no evidence of the yesterday.
