I am wondering what kind of pressure there is on the Klik. Does it get too much pressure throughout the season or is there still room to fish ? Are there trout ? I plan to run it soon in my
driftboat just for the purpose of exploration muddy or not. I 'd like to fly fish it this year.

I have read some of the websites about the trail going in on the rail bed. So are the banks all
private property or ? Can the Klik be fished from the bank Via car or is it all private access ?

The Klickitat is an interesting river, there is like 3 seperate sections that you fish totally differnt. Most of my fishing is done with bait from the Fisher hill bridge down. Up in the canyon, the water faster moving, but tons of good holes. The klickitat is one of those rivers where people float and camp for a weekend, etc. The water sometimes is cloudy much like the Sandy this time of year! The Db launches are a mix of gravel bars and Slides, the river is rocky looking. I have never floated it myself but I have scoped it out often. Not sure about trout but Summer Salmon and Steelhead are in there.

Fastaction: Thanks for the info. I see from your profile you fish the Yakama river. That's another
Washington stream that has caught my attention. I really love to fly fish and thought about checking it out also. My driftboat is a homemade Aluminum Rapid Robert. It is only 12 feet long and
handles very well in technical water. Even if I beat the heck out of it I will run it down white water.
It was made for water like the Klik. You own a 13ft. Siletz driftboat yourself. Have you tried fly fishing the Klikitat ? I would think it would be a popular river seeing how it is closer to Portland than the Deshutes. I like the idea of someplace closer and less crowded. My cousin drifted it last year in a boat just like mine and did OK fly fishing for Steelhead. I understand there is a shuttle service available in Lyle.

The Klickitat is still muddy but is starting to clear up. There's lots of trout in there. Most of them are steelhead that just turn residents. With the outside temp cooling down, the water color should start to clear up.
Few more weeks!
