Devils lake stocked soon

My home town lake will be getting stocked sometime this week with 6500 and another at the end of the month then 7000 more in april this is a increase of 6000 over last year there should be lots of fish to catch, it is worth the drive down to fish a nice lake with good launches.:twocents:

hey willis...... one of my good friends fathers has a house right on the lake with a dock and everything. We will be headed down there this weekend for some good fishing. If your down there this weekend and you see a Black and white 14' boat with a bunch of people in it say hi. We'll be down there all weekend.

fished it this afternoon for an hour or two. my seven your old son caught a nice one 18 inches long but it was a native and had to throw it back. Had 4-5 hits but unable to hook up. Most boats I talked to reported it very slow. In a week or so it should be hopping though.

Got a live report 5 min ago...fishing off the dock at regata tossing spinners they have landed over 20 fish and kept 4 that were good size, they have only taken one on bait today....every 2 or 3 casts they are hooking up. The fish are not as large as last years plants but a few good size mixed in..if you are in a boat troll just inside the no wake bouys to the south along the shoreline and you will find them, use lures or flys with a single split shot 3 ft up the line, try to stay far enouph out to not get in the bankies lines.:twocents:

Fished here this morning. Launched the boat @ 7:00 and trolled a wedding ring without much luck. Had a Gulp worm on it, switched to a Gulp Salmon Egg (Yellow) about 45 minutes later and caught one about 11". About 8:30 I changed to a brass Kastmaster and WOW! In the next 3.5 hours, kept 5, hooked and lost another 7, and missed a bunch of bites.

Nothing of size but good fishing. Seems to be an active fishery right now. Of course, they just put 7,000 legal fish in there on the 13th.
