I have been absent most of the winter, school and work mostly, and missed most of the discussion about the mongold ramp. Please forgive me. can someone please take the time to post a good description of the conditions? In general, can we count on being able to launch after driving all the way up there now? I have a flat bottom river sled that sits high on a trailer that would probably accomodate a deep v (thanks, alumaweld) and can have a pretty tough time floating off the trailer if the ramp is not steep enough. I will back in till the door jams are taking water on the bigger swells, and if the boat is still not afloat, I pull it home. I am sure hoping someone will assure me that I will be able to use the mongold launch year around now, it would sure be good news.
My dad and I have always done OK in the cold by nosing the boat into the mud on the blowout arm and still fishing, with the heater going and lots of coffee and hot chocolate from home. Dad is a good three hour drive away now, and add another hour from my place to detroit, and we have more time than we want to risk invested. We are sure hoping someone will tell us we can count on that ramp.
