Kinda a Newb here

So ive fished for bass here around Toledo and down in southern oregon but always in the summer time. Is this the better time to fish or am I missing something here? I have been itching to get out on the water but did not think the bass would be biting yet. Am I wrong or? Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.


Also what types of tournaments do they have for bass around here and can anyone enter?

Spring bass is about the size of the fish not the number of fish. So if you want size spring is better, if you want numbers summer is better.

There are people catching bass already. You can get fish this time of year but if you get more then one or two bites then you should consider it a good day.

Well there are "open tournaments". These are tournys that anyone can fish.

Then there are "club tournaments". These you have to be a member.

I can't find the entire list of open tournys in Oregon so hopefully someone else will post them.
