for new ideas. I am looking to turn a white handle that has close to the same feel as cork. What material ideas do you guys have? I want to stay away from acrylic as im not sure it would be very comfortable.

No idea is to far out there.

Thanks

White oak, or white ash... Not sure about the weight tho..I wonder how that re-cycled paper they turn into trim and stuff would do? Just have to coat it with a good water treatment.

Cottonwood is soft, light color and sometimes will have colorful streaks. But you can put a mark on it with your fingernail.

EVA. It's soft, comfortable to grip, easy to get in a variety of colors, and you can make a multitude of inlays and cool accents with it. It's not as fancy as cork or wood, but you can't beat it for lightness, comfort, and easy turning on the lathe. I'm liking eva more and more and cork less and less as the price of cork keeps giong up and the quality keeps going down. :twocents:
