I'm heading to Siltcoos Lake April 2nd thru the 5th and would like a bit of info from some of the locals there or someone who fishes it on a regular basis.
I've fished Siltcoos many many time but generally I go later in the year like August & September.
I 'still' fish, out of the boat, using Power Bait off the bottom, around the edges of the entire lake. I anchor away from the edges of the weed beds and such, and toss my offering right on those edges to float the Power Bait off the bottom. I've done pretty good that way.
Trolling, I've used Brass or Chrome "Beer Cans" followed with a small FROG Flatfish and done well with that also. I've caught trout also trailing a Rooster Tail generally in a darker color like Brown or even Black. And, I've trailed a small Spin-n-Glo in Pink & White and have done good with that too.
I would take ANY suggestons on how to fish it, and where to fish it also. It is never too early or late to learn new things!!!
Basically, I 'kind of know' how to fish it but just want a current update as to how the fishing is right now. We're going to focus on trout and will save the bass fishing until later in the year when things warm up a bit.
Thanks in advance,
Ken
