April 25th opener- Where will you be?

The April 25th trout opener is just around the corner and I was curious where everyone will be and what you will be fishing for. I am doing my normal Odell trip looking for that big Lake Trout. I will be at Shelter Cove in site 10 so if you are there stop in and say hi. Can you tell I just can't wait. So many lakes and so little time. Browns, Rainbows, Kokanee, Lakers? Where will I go next?

I will be at Odell also, Staying with some friends in one of the cabins they rent every year. If I get a chance I will stop by and intro myself!

I am doing something unusual this year. I have always hit the opener at wapato lake outside of chelan. It is tradition to go there and we have done it for years, this year we decided to do something different and are going elsewhere. It will be a bummer to lose a tradition, but I think that we will be starting a new one. Good luck

Do they still have tench in Wapato Lake? I use to fish there 50 years ago.

Bret I may see you. I may pick Odell for the opener as well. I'm thinking I will have had a few trips to Crescent by then. Theres something about the possibility of a 25-30 lb mack that has me dreaming at night.

I will be going to Blue lake, CA if the lake is ice free :pray: . If not then Crescent Lake again for browns. :excited:

Ditto. Never done it on opening though. Are any of the campsites really open then or are they covered in snow? Or is this a sleep in the truck type thing? PM would be appreciated.

Most years I find the opener to be a good day to stay home and do the honey-do list. I hate fighting that much traffic at the ramp and on the water.

Crescent maybe. Paulina or East if they're accessible (highly doubtful). Or, like Doc said, Honey-do's up the wazzoo.

I would like to be at Odell for the opener this year.
Since I am not really into camping on the snow anymore (guess i am getting old LOL) and it is such a long day to make the round trip up from Portland... last years opener sure put a downer on the long day, not really sure what I am going to do just yet. :pray:

Normally I'd go to Wickiup and I'd still like to but I will be in Bend training at the ODOT academy.
