This is a big carp my dad caught about thirty years ago back in New York. My dad can't seem to remember the lake:passout:

You look like your dad. Except he's better looking.

Are those run of the mill carp, or gold fish released by pet owners, or what? I have never seen a carp like either of those, although I am far from an expert.

Either of those would go on my wall in a heartbeat. That NY one is awesome.

When I was a kid, my stepdad would take us to Narrowsburb, N.Y. every summer for a week vacation. It's on the Hudson river. There was an lod guy, well younger than me now but I was about 7 then, and all he fished for were carp. He made his own home made dought balls and caught huge carp. They would pull him around the river quite a while before he got them. He claimed he ate them! Back then a lot of people claimed to eat them, we didn't!

yes, these are just pets that people let go in the rivers. i have caught several in the willy, and my dad saw an osprey with one about 4 lbs.

Wow. First the gators in the NY sewers, and now this! Kind of funny, but I guess they are pretty resilent critters. I'll have to figure out a way to hook "Tetra Min" flakes to a drop shot hook!
