Our first trip up this year and I wore waders to launch as usual not knowing the new ramp was usable. Beautiful day!!! Had my son and 3 buddies out and we did some jigging, bait fishing and some trolling. It was a slow day with only 3 in the boat. Nice fish though. Ah Heck, a day on the lake beats a day at the office. Got some nice pics but Im the usual dummy that cant seem to get them on here...:passout:

With snowmelt flowing into the lake it's going to be a bit cold for a good bite. It will pick up again when the water warms. Historically the water temperature will remain in the mid to upper 30's until around May. When it gets above 40 the bite will be on again. You can obviously still get fish to bite, but not as well as when the water temp goes up.

So, was the new low water launch the answer to the problem? does it look like there will be a more or less constantly usable ramp at mongold or do I still need to learn the levels that I can launch my boat at and check the army corp of engineers site first?

The new ramp will be usable in the winter and early spring seasons but when the lake is at summer levels. It will be submerged. But the bottom line is. You can get in easily year round now........:meme:
