Hello,

We've seen some pretty clear weather here today in the West Linn area, I'm just wondering if anybody can provide me some insight on whether or not tomorrow could be a decent day to catch some fish? Would I have more luck in the deeper areas of the Willamette, or in some of the more shallow spots?

Kinda new, thanks guys.

The water's still too cold in the Willamette because of the low overnight temps:

Right now they're probably still deep and lockjawed, but when the water temp. starts stabilizing in the low 50s it'll be on. They'll start coming in shallower (5-10 feet) and feeding. From the bank I would look for a rocky point with deep water nearby. Better yet would be a rocky point near backwater spawning areas.
Your best bet, though, would be to find a largemouth pond and fish it during the warm part of one of the warmer days coming up.

Mid next week is looking good for the water getting up to 50, which is close enough to get me out on the boat. From the bank I would look for a rocky point with deep water nearby. Any Largemouth ponds come to mind around the OC/WL/LO area? I was thinking about the pools on the lower Willamette out in Canby as a possibility.. (bank fisherman here) :(

Thanks for the help Boblag!

Check out the book "Fishing in Oregon" and Google Earth. Those resources should help you find some.
