Well I have now been down here for a week and a half and am starting to get some of this fishing figured out. I spend too much time fishing for the few fish I have now been lucky enough to catch but am happy none the less.
Got to the lake about noon today with my girlfriend, had the poles out for awhile and then moved to "our" spot when another guy left. Set up maybe 20 minutes when the pole went crazy, missed that one. Five minutes later another take down....missed again. Looked over at her pole and it was going crazy, I did a run and grab and got that one hooked, it was taking line like crazy and I was trying to give the pole to her when it shook loose. Got reset when the other pole took off, got that fish hooked but had some difficulties with the line and ended up snapping that one off. After being frustrated and tired of missing so many fish I finally had another good hit that stuck, after a few minutes the fish tired and we were able to get it netted!!!
Not a record by any means but a good solid 2 1/2 pound fish for the barbecue. (The last one tasted great!) We were both happy and tried to get one more but it never happened, So far something like 12 hits, 4-5 hookups and 2 fish landed, not great but I am learning! Also, the fish had been bled out and rubbed around in the net for awhile, The scales were in tact when landed, Hope you enjoy.15526
