My question is does anyone know why you can catch kokes in Colorado through the ice and around here they don't seem too interested in anything during the winter???? HuH? Any ideas?

I did some ice fishing in Idaho for Kokanee. We used a 1/2 oz bead chain sinker with a 3" leader to a smaller jig with a maggot. Killed em.

Were you using real maggots or man-made maggots?

Sorry for the late reply. We used real maggots. For some reason, maggots are very available in that part of the west and not so here. After reading the STS article yesterday on kokanee, I'm thinking about trying the Gulp maggots this summer.
