I expect it to be stocked next week with 400 legals and 50 larger trout. Please bring your kids or folks with a handicapped fishing license.
I will also need volunteers to help keep the area clean, and peaceful.
The pond has more than the usual amount of vegetation, but some areas are still clear for problem free fishing.

Mitch, I plan on watching over the area on my home from work during the week and a few drive by's during the weekend to help enforce the new regulations. I know ODFW plans to put up bilingual (english/spanish/russian) signs this week when we do the work on the screen (that was the plan anyway). As for the vegitation, if you would like, since we will have my DB in the pond to work on the screen we can rake some of the vegitation if you would like before we pull it out. Let me know and I'll bring the rake...............

Great, please bring your metal rake. The pond will need some eyes in the early AM, that is when mosts overcatch occured last Spring. Mike found the Zipties. I may take a short drift the Mo to check on a trash dump site nearby.
And on Monday we will need some kids to show us how to fish. :meme:

Same boat. I will have my son out there as soon as I hear word of the stocking. He is 20 months, and loves to reel it in after I cast it out there for him... hopefully a fish will jump on it as it passes by. lol

I am sure we have some rainbow and chartreuse.
I was thinking mabey a bobber set-up w/bait this year as to try and avoid some of the weeds and mabey let the kids see the bobber disapear.
Whats your recommendation?

If they can cast, a bobber setup would be fun and effective. :applause:

Mitch I will be making it down that way at some point with the two kids 10 and 2 I will get the two year old his first fish and get some pics of it, I have two newer trout poles that we used for jigging herring a few times and the salt got to the reals a bit so I took one apart and lubed it good but it still is not "right" but works well just sounds a little funny I would be willing to donate them if you have some type of program that they can be used for at the pond, let me know and ill bring them if you want them.

...............VIOLATORS BEWARE...................
I stopped by the pond last night after work to see how everything was going. In the time I was there I had to tell 7 people (adults) that the pond was now 17 and under/disabled angler only. One was was rigging up getting ready to fish when I pulled up. The others were just people driving buy asking if the pond had been stocked.
Here's the good/bad part depending on how you see it. I was told that the OSP had just left before I arrived and had written a bunch of tickets for people not following the regulations. From what I understand the fine was $75 per person and for those that gave the officer a hard time he wrote them up for an additional $25 per fish.
So, as you always should do. You should know what the regulations are where you are fishing or be prepared to be cited.
Oh, the new regulations are posted on bright yellow signs around the pond so there is no excuse.
