In early june I am going to be driving home from Malibu CA to Bainbridge Island WA and want to make it a fishing trip.
I am planning to stop and hit the deschutes and the crooked but other than that I am not positive about where I should go. I may also fish Hat Creek but I dont know yet.
Can you guys give me some suggestions on streams that I should shot and fish.
Mainly trout fishing but if there are going to be any steelhead or salmon in the rivers I would like to try for them.
Thank you fo your help.

I can't recomend much in CA, but while there I really enjoyed floattubing Lake Manzanita in the Mt. Lassen Park (I think that's what it's called) for the Callebaetis hatch.
Then head north and poke around the Klamath basin. K'Lake's got the biggest 'bows around. Williamson River for the Black Drake hatch.
So many waters....... you better give yourself a month.

I would like to fish the Rogue and the N Umpqua. I will probably stop by to see the waters even if there aren't any fish.
Any advice or suggestions for these 2 rivers? will there be any springers or steelies in at that time?

You might be in time for the Salmon Fly hatch on the upper Rogue. If so...the place to fish would be the "Holy Water"
I have done very well for summer Steelhead on the North Umpqua in the last week of June, but nothing near the first week.
There will be Springers in both rivers at that time.

Oh buddy you got a bunch of water to check out. You might want to start on the Yuba R.
N of Sacramento, the Sac at Redding, Mcloud River, the Pit River, the Trinity R.
Hat Creek is alright but by June they have seen everything and not really worth your time in my opinion! If you want anyinfo give me and email.

Grantpastors right. The "Holy Water" above Cole M. Rivers Hatchery can be excellent for rainbows. The regs state that it's flyfishing only and catch and release only. Those salmon flies are "HUGE".
