there were tons of big fish caught out there today. One I saw was 29" long. Lake stop had about 10 come in today that were around the 10lb mark. There was a ton in the 3-4lb class.

Yeah if it weren't for the big fish biting today it would have really sucked! As in ZERO stocker trout for me! The most I saw any boat have was 2. I trolled for 3 hours in the morning and didn't have one hit. So I decided if I wasn't going to catch anything- it was gonna be BIG! I put opn a 6 inch A.C. Plug and just started trolling it with no weight. Went across the lake from the A Ramp into a little cove and just as I turned to head out of there- hear the reel go off and look back to a torqued over bouncing rod- hey, must have drug a bass off that little point was my first thought- since I had that giant lure on. Nope, it underwent some kinda change by the time it got to the boat and turned into this!

Not the normal brooder I'd have to say- jumped 4 times with mini-brooder runs after each jump. After the fouth time though it was just done! Finally caught a fish on one of those plugs- first time I put THAT much time into it though. Trolled about an hour to catch it.

A couple hours later near the litle cove by the north side of the dam I had another one on just long enough to take the boat out of gear and it let go. An hour later had another good takedown, but it let go before I could pick up the rod. In the same area I saw a blue drift boat get two big ones right to the boat and lose them both- they said 7 lbs and 10lbs. They said they lost another 18 incher by the dam. Then I saw this guy catch this one!

He said it was with 4lb. test on his kids kidde pole!

I changed my lure to this:

And in 5 minutes caught this 14 inch bass!

Nice to meet you SHOX! Sorry I forgot to tell you my Ifish name- oops! Now you know!

Thanks for the pics. I decided not to take my 5 year old out in the rain, as we have no canopy for our canoe! She liked seeing your pictures though! Nice job!:thisbig:

Where were all you who said you'd be there:shrug:???

After I had resigned myself to not catching anything, I spent about an hour trolling around with my binoculars looking for Ifishers....

didn't see a "Kingfisher , Ifish sticker on motor"

chased down an Arima- they said they weren't Ifishers!

stalked a Lodge Series- it wasn't you George- sorry you couldn't make it ( I caught your fish!!!!)

"Oregon Boater" may been there "15ft aluminum, open bow" was a little too generic to be able to tell

Finally after passing SHOX a few times I decided he fit his description ('60's fiberglass/blue trim) and drove over to say Hi.

Need more Ifish stickers!

Yeah I was there with my brother and his brother-in-law.
My mistake, it is a 15 1/2 ft white fiberglass, no top w/Merc outboard.
Would have been three cold guys, on in the bow, one in the middle(me), one in the Stearn steering the troller.
Didn't see any Ifish stickers.
One of us caught 2 11" plants, one of us caught a 81/4" (didn't think they planted them that small) and a fat 16" (kinda dark compared to the others pictured), then there was me, apparently I was the unofficial "Net Boy" the only fish I caught was when I netted theirs.:passout:

Next time I will target the biggin's.

My dad and two uncles went out. We went out started fishing and saw something sticking out of a cooler. My uncle told me to go take a look and as I came closer it was a hunkin big TROUT!

Twas a big fish as all the guys were laughing I snagged a picture (Thanks for letting me take one!). However, the picture does not do the fish justice.

I heard they caught another big one also. Lucky day for those guys from the bank.

We ended up with two with a few bites here and there. Moved to a few spots and the best spot we tried where I had several alarms was to the right of the ramp by the parking lot. Too bad I jerked on most of them and came up with nothing as it was probably just small fish.

Overall, I wished I could have fished it a bit longer, twas a bit slow, but if you kept at it you would not have came home empty handed because there were a lot of hatchery fishing lurking around. It just took time.

Good luck all! I might head out again on Friday if my sisters do not have school.

Hey just saw my pic on this thread. I'm the one that caught that 5.29 pounder with my daughters kidde pole. It's was a little 3.5 foot cabelas ultra ultra light. What a fun fish to catch on that. I had to play with the drag adjustment all the way in.

Anyway we were the last ones on the lake that night. The police officer was on his way out to tell us it was time to wrap it up when my Dad (the guy behind me in the background) hooked up with a 10.22 pounder. What a beautiful fish. Had it weight at the lake stop and we measured it at 29.5" long. WHAT A HECK OF A STARTING DAY AT HAGG! It's going to be difficult to top that one, but, we're sure going to try!!!

The lake stop took our picture (all 4 of us), my two girls with the big fish and me and papa with a couple of stockers. They said they thought it would be in the newspaper, but, I haven't heard of it yet.

Again, it was one heck of a trip and the best thing about it was my girls 5yrs and 3yrs had a blast!!

I'll try and remember to post the pic of Papa with the monster 29.5" 10.22 lb'er.

Wow Bluechevy- nice job! Little did I know when I took your pic that you were showing me your little fish! I could see your girls were having fun. I really missed an opportunity for a great picture of you and the girls when you held that fish up- I just got about the top halves of both their faces- I was so intent on the fish, I missed the real story - I could tell by their eyes though that they had some big grins going on! Dang- maybe next time. I'll be looking for your stickers next time!
