Okay, to avoid any curses by not posting a story as a new member; here goes. Last week on the Wilson was fishing with my good buddy Marlin Mark and hooked a fish on my fly rod. Well after battling this smoker for about 10 minutes and preparing for the end the fish zigged and I zagged and the fly popped out. Soon after our choice words settled down my good buddy told me that he has still not boated a fish in his new boat which is over two years old. Talk about a curse. Any advice for relieving this bad mojo from my buddies boat would be helpful. Thanks and look forward to hanging out on ifish.

I haven't even had a fish on since November. I had one grab and drop on the Nestucca two weeks ago and that's it...I hear your story and I'm a little jealous. Hopefully the runs will get a little stronger and we'll all start catching more fish. or maybe I'll head out to the Crooked and fish for trout.
Good luck and tight lines.

Rub your boat down well with Marie's shrimp oil. They'll bite the boat..but they still won't bite your hook. Don't give up. Taking winter fish can be an excercise in patience..but when conditions are right you'll get em. Congratulations on your hook up. and welcome to ifish.

Welcome aboard...
I see you are listing Bend Or. as your location. I think if you move closer to where the fish are you are more likely to catch one...
Otherwise, depending on how you are fishing and where follow a couple of the locals around for awhile and see if they are catching anything.. If they are remember the spots and try to get to them next time you fish that area.

Welcome Team FCS,
I told you that the boat has yet to have a winter steelhead landed. We've had some big bright fish on but just been unlucky. It seems to be very deadly on other fishes already though. It'll come. You need to get back over after you get back from Hawaii.
We caught a 16" Kokanee the other day while giving Dad's sled a shakedown before the big trip on the fifth. Look forward to seeing you there. Bring anti-freeze (Yukon).
Later Buddy,
Mark
